Special Air Service Boat Troop






The special air service (sas) is a special forces unit of the british army. the sas was founded in 1941 as a regiment , and later reconstituted as a corps in 1950. [5] the unit undertakes a number of roles including covert reconnaissance , counter-terrorism , direct action and hostage rescue .. Often confused with the royal marines special boat squadron (sbs), boat troop carry out the sas’s activities that require a water insertion platform.. Special air service organisation. the 22nd special air service regiment (22 sas) comprises of 4 active 'sabre' squadrons : a, b, d, & g, each made up of around 60 men. each squadron is made up of 4 troops with each troop specialising in certain areas of expertise..
