Laying reclaimed floorboards... hi, i am looking to lay some wide (8.5") 100 year old reclaimed pine floorboards onto a ply sub-floor over a concrete slab. i really want a rustic feel so would prefer not to use the screw and wood-plug method.. Grab the nail out the side of the pliers and insert the block of wood between the joist and the head of the pliers. then use the leverage to pull the nail out, this is also great because it will not damage your wood.. I would like to nail them back down rather than use screws for a number of reasons: namely on other floorboards where i've used screws whenever you go back to them after a couple of years the head.
