King lear model boat club was formed in march 2008. we are a friendly club whose members interests cover all aspects of model boating ie. sail, steam, scale, fast electric and static. we sail on sundays weather permitting, although we have access to our lake 24/7.. King lear mbc operates on a large lake at the far end of the park and has excellent access to parking a few steps away from the water’s edge. the members enjoy all aspects of model boating and have a social evening on the first tuesday of each month where club business is also discussed.. The club meets every thursday as well as special events through-out the year.. The marine modelling international society shield for best society/club display, as voted for by the clubs themselves, was awarded to king lear model boat club, in 2nd place was bournville radio sailing & model boat club and in joint 3rd position was wicksteed park model boat club & the lifeboat enthusiasts..
