Jet boat build. 1/4 throttle run test. twin jet drive wooden rc boat part 1 dont watch this wait till part two comes out i promise. The woodenboat forum is sponsored by woodenboat publications, publisher of woodenboat magazine. the forum is a free service, and much like the "free" content on public radio, we hope you will support woodenboat by subscribing to this fabulous magazine.. The first thing to do, therefore, is make the wooden molds, as you can see in the pictures mine were cut and carved from a soft wood. the design of the hull is up to your imagination however, the bottom of the boat molds must have a flat area (to incorperate the jet drive) and be a planing hull not a rowing hull..
I plan to build a small (~14ft) wooden boat in the style of the early chris craft and hacker craft racing runabouts. i would like to be able to drag the boat up onto the beach if necessary, and i would like the boat to be easy to trailer and launch.. Most often used in personal watercraft or very large boats, jet drives replace propellers to push a boat through the water using high-pressure air forced out of the stern of a vessel. the water jet draws water from beneath the hull and passes it through impellers and out a moveable nozzle that steers the boat.. Power: jet water pump drive up to 50 hp, usually salvaged from a damaged jet ski. can the hull be extended or shortened? no. we also do not recommend increasing the beam. trailer: designed for use with glen-l series 750/1000 boat trailer plans..
